THE MHA INCREASES ITS VOLUNTEER EFFORTS

Volunteering has always been important for members of the MHA. Countless members have attended our quarterly volunteer days over the years, and it’s always exciting to see so many people willing to give back to their communities.

The MHA has recently expanded its volunteer efforts. Now, instead of volunteering quarterly, we do our part at least once a week.

The MHA has a standing volunteer engagement with RU Hungry every Friday night at Smith Park. This is one of our most exciting opportunities, and if you would like to join us, please let us know. Space is limited, so RSVP to ensure you have a spot.

We will also be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on June 1. We can’t wait to help build a house for a family in need and we would love for you to attend.

The MHA has also been volunteering with Big House Books and the Mississippi Food Network, along with collecting supplies for people in need. We gathered three crates of supplies for the Jackson Homeless Women’s Outreach Project, and we are currently collecting items for the Ronald McDonald House.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact us. We can provide you with a list of volunteer opportunities and go over the details of each one.

CELEBRATE WORLD HUMANIST DAY WITH THE MHA

World Humanist Day is on June 21, and the MHA is throwing a party at The Bulldog to celebrate! The party will be from 7 p.m. to midnight, and it’s free to attend.

This is going to be one of the biggest events the MHA has ever held. There will be food, a cash bar, trivia, prizes, and more, and it’s sure to be a blast.

This party is a way to thank our membership, but you don’t need to be a member to attend. Everyone is welcome!

While it’s free, we do ask that you grab tickets so we will have an accurate headcount going into the event.

Free tickets are available on the Eventbrite website. Go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/world-humanist-day-celebration-tickets-61641640807 to get yours today.

Also, share this event with your friends. The more the merrier! Let’s come together and have a party to remember. We can’t wait to see you there!
